Limits

I think it's safe to say that I've been pushing my limits lately. I've been operating on between 4 and 6 hours sleep for most of the last 3 weeks or so. The one day I could sleep in? I woke up after 7 hours. I've been a person who can get by on 7 hours sleep, with 8 being preferable, but perhaps my body will readjust. Or maybe I'm just taking years off my life.

Sleep has been the key physical limit tested. Mentally there has been a lot of testing too, with so much to learn in both the fields of floristry and business management. Apparently I'm a fast learner. At least in the field of floral arrangement anyway. It's nice to know I have a sense of colour and shape. Unfortunately it's going to take a while for me to work at an adequate pace, in part because I'm a naturally careful person.

Part of the reason sleep has been so scarce has been my non-shop related commitments/responsibilities. 'When it rains, it pours' is an apt way of putting it. That is, after a bit of 'drought' in my life (meaning a fairly uneventful several months) everything has been happening all together.

Too tired to make this entry read well. Oh well.

I'd like to tell you all a bit more about how things have gone with the floristry and all, but in brief, it's been hard work, but engaging and parts of it enjoyable. The days have been long, but the time has passed quickly because there's always so much to do. I miss the time I had available before, but I don't question the decision to make the change. As I had considered beforehand, the change has been a huge learning experience, and perhaps at last I will grow more as a person.

More later. For now, time to sleep.

it's a nice entry, I had no trouble reading it at all :)
I think readjusting takes a while.. It's week 2 of uni and I still haven't adjusted to the waking and sleeping hours, the work load, the tiredness that comes from it all..
:)
I learn you learn :D
