Bombala

This morning I woke up at 5.15am to pick up a couple of people and go to the Bombala Prebyterian Church with a bunch of people from my own church. I think I must be getting used to not sleeping much because I wasn't feeling particularly sleepy considering I had less than 6 hours sleep (was meant to sleep earlier, but stupidly got myself infected with a trojan and spent an hour getting rid of it).

Bombala is a small town of approximately 1800 people (according to one of the church goers during lunchtime conversation), about 2.5 hours southish from Canberra. The car trip was quite pleasant... perhaps because I wasn't driving (we carpooled from church), and because we could chat. At times though it was a bit quiet as one or more of the passengers took a nap =P

The group that went lead some songs, did a couple of bible readings, gave a couple of testimonies, gave a children's talk and prepared a kid's activity. All-in-all we were warmly welcomed and hopefully we were an encouragement to the small church (the congregation numbered about 20 on this particularly morning, excluding the 13 of us from my church), as they were an encouragement to us.

I gave one of the testimonies, which had me rather nervous, even though it was only a minute and a half long.

We joined them for lunch, which was some cold meats and salads, and an impressive range of very yummy desserts (yes, I probably had more dessert than mains!).

It was a really nice, enjoyable day =)

It's nice to visit other churches, especially country town ones. So different.
