10 Things I Hate About You

Hang on, sorry, it should be 10 things I've always wanted to do, in no particular order... (post idea stolen from Jenny =)

1. Write a story so touching that even the most unsentimental of people would shed tears of emotion.

2. Skydive! Nothing like jumping out of an aeroplane from upwards of 10,000 feet (approx. 3km) to experience the force of gravity.

3. Write a love letter to my true love (no, there is no true love in my life at this moment, or prior to this moment for that matter).

4. Drive a sports car full-tilt around a race-course.

5. See earth from outer-space. (Yes, I do like Star Trek... The Next Generation series was the best though... gotta love the character "Data")

6. Get married and have kids. Between 2-4 kids... though 2 girls and 1 boy would be cool =)

7. Publish a novel.

8. Be able to play a musical instrument - being able to play what I hear.

9. Speak and write with the eloquence of a royal bard (yes, I know I try somewhat hopefully, but with not much success) .

10. Understand how people think and feel - true empathy.

Well, sorry... rather boring list I know... and I can't be bothered searching for pictures to liven up the list. But boring I have been called, and so if boring thou dost find me, then hasten from here and venture not unto mine domain hereafter.

Prithee, if thou wouldst seek more entertaining fare, then elsewhere shall I direct thee.

Anyway, was running out of ideas by about item 6 or 7 >.<

I know it's been rather light here lately in my neck of the woods. I'll try and write something more substantial, but I have other priorities for the next month or so. We'll see how it goes... inspiration might find me once more =P

write a story based on my 'crisis' and maybe you might get a few tears out of ur readers...

haha... nah, seriously, whenever i look at my life/situation, I feel as if it comes straight out of a drama series or something. Im not trying to boast.. in actually fact, I wish my life was a little less colourful... but u get my drift.

Hehe.. not boring. Nice to read ur list regardless of what you put in! :D

Well, it's always easier to write from experience. Perhaps some day you would consider writing about your 'crisis'? Though I know it can be painful... When I wrote one of my short stories last year it brought back some emotions.

Interesting you say that, about the life as a drama thing... hehe... I feel that way sometimes. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and usually it's just a matter of drawing it out.

Maybe I will... although I don't think my writing style is able to produce a heart wrenching story... I just don't know how to write in the fiction/narrative style. Essays, speeches, opinion pieces, reviews, articles, factual papers, poetry, lyrics, devotionals, etc I can do... but fiction/stories? I'm totally lost...

;)

And yes, I am scared if it brought back emotions.... maybe 20 years from now or something? haha...or not :p

I think it's a bit strange that you can write almost anything else EXCEPT stories... especially if you can write poetry and lyrics. I guess for me stories are easier because I can write however I like... whereas the other styles require a lot more effort.

We'll see what happens. Who knows what God will bring us right? =)

i dunno Son... I just have never tried writing stories. My imagination I guess isn't creative enough to conjure up interesting plots and scenarios that will engage a reader for large chunks of pages.

I'm opinionated so I can write anything that expresses my point of view or take on the world. I guess thats why its easy to write devotionals, journal entries, songs/poems, reviews, etc... hehe... stories, are well... stories? :P

A story isn't necessarily about plots or scenarios. It's better if they are about emotions, ideas, perspectives, just everyday things that people don't notice. What I write normally stems from an idea, or an emotion that I want to explore. The plot is best when used as a vehicle for getting that idea or emotion across, rather than being the point of the story itself.
