Update
Hello. Two weeks since my last post, so I thought I'd say "Hi!" Don't really have much to say.
I've been busy, but fairly content. Am really looking forward to having a bit of a break from work (would like a really BIG break from work, but that's not happening anytime soon... unless I get fired or something). I have a week off in early December(just 5 weeks to go!), and then from Christmas through to New Year. Will be spending the first week in Sydney, with no big plans except a wedding, helping out with the wedding preparations if needed, do some shopping, lots of eating... For the Christmas break I think I'll just stay at home for the most part, do a few things around the home (perhaps even clean my room finally after more than a year in the new place?).
Well, Daylight Savings begins in a couple of hours, so it's rather late. Goodnight =)
Bombala
This morning I woke up at 5.15am to pick up a couple of people and go to the Bombala Prebyterian Church with a bunch of people from my own church. I think I must be getting used to not sleeping much because I wasn't feeling particularly sleepy considering I had less than 6 hours sleep (was meant to sleep earlier, but stupidly got myself infected with a trojan and spent an hour getting rid of it).
Bombala is a small town of approximately 1800 people (according to one of the church goers during lunchtime conversation), about 2.5 hours southish from Canberra. The car trip was quite pleasant... perhaps because I wasn't driving (we carpooled from church), and because we could chat. At times though it was a bit quiet as one or more of the passengers took a nap =P
The group that went lead some songs, did a couple of bible readings, gave a couple of testimonies, gave a children's talk and prepared a kid's activity. All-in-all we were warmly welcomed and hopefully we were an encouragement to the small church (the congregation numbered about 20 on this particularly morning, excluding the 13 of us from my church), as they were an encouragement to us.
I gave one of the testimonies, which had me rather nervous, even though it was only a minute and a half long.
We joined them for lunch, which was some cold meats and salads, and an impressive range of very yummy desserts (yes, I probably had more dessert than mains!).
It was a really nice, enjoyable day =)
Why...
...do I always have to make a mess of things?!?
Is it some pathological urge towards self-destruction? *sigh*
Anyways, was otherwise quite a nice day... hahaha...
Sashimi and Oysters
Had an enjoyable long weekend up in Sydney with a few friends. What did we do? Pretty much just eat and shop... and that was just Saturday ;P hahaha, well, by shopping I mean we wandered through Paddy's Market in Chinatown and we spent quite a bit of time at two different Morning Glory stores >.< As for food... well... we had yum cha for lunch, a few things from a Chinese bakery, pearl tea, dinner at a Chinese restaurant (soft-shell crab!)... and then Sunday we went to the fish markets =) I had my favourite sashimi (salmon) and oysters. Somehow I managed a dozen raw oysters... though I think next time I'll get the smaller ones if I have that many!
We also wandered briefly around Darling Harbour. It's a really nice spot to just stroll around and enjoy.
Saturday night we watched Final Destination 3 (I haven't seen 1 or 2. It was entertaining, and probably more fun, and less scary, watching with others than on your own), and Failure to Launch (quite funny).
We got home at around 6pm on the Sunday. I didn't end up sleeping 'til about 3am, so it was no surprise that didn't get up 'til noon. Went to Floriade, which was my third time/year. I got roped into a street performer's gig, which was a little embarrassing, but fun. Was almost dinner time by the time I got home.
Needless to say, I didn't really rest that much, though a lot of what we did was fairly leisurely.
hmm... sorry, the retelling's a bit boring, but brain's not up to embellishments at the moment =P
Night everyone.
