Scattered Thoughts

To be honest, I haven't done a great deal of deep thinking lately (not that I normally do anyway), as everyday living has occupied most of my time. So what have I been up to? Well, settling into the house is slowly progressing. I finally cleaned up the kitchen, and the study is pretty much set up. Still waiting for the curtains, so I'm still living mostly in my bedroom.

Work is fairly steady. There's always something to do, just that I haven't particularly felt like doing it >.< I guess I'm waiting for the Christmas holidays. I have two weeks off - about as much time off in one go as I've had all year (public holidays, etc). Am looking to seeing my family again, with my parents staying for a few days, while my siblings will be here the entire 2 weeks I have off work =)

Like every year, this one has whizzed by...

One thing I have been thinking about is another short story. Have started it, but will likely be a few more weeks before I finish it. haha... I'm realising that I'm something of a romance writer, though I guess most things in life revolve around love. Should be a happier ending this time =)

I am invited to two weddings that are coming up, and I'm friends with 3 of the 4 participants (no, I am not the fourth participant =P)... the first 2 weddings of good friends of my generation... and they are on the same day! How's that for coincidence? Fortunately, due to the timing of the two events, I can still be at both =) It's less than a month away now... it's quite exciting - the start of a new stage of life for my friends. Was uni, and then work, and now - marriage. And to go along with the 2 weddings was an engagement just a couple months ago.

I have thought a bit about love and marriage in light of these announcements ("haha... but aren't you always thinking about these things Son?" I hear you ask). But, it hasn't actually been in the forefront of my mind. However, I do expect to have a strong emotional response after the weddings, so I'll tell you my thoughts on that later.

For now... I'm rather braindead (not unusual), so I'd better find something else to do. I shall speak further with thee anon.

i don't think I can make it to one of the ones you are attending son :( work commitments are just happening all at the wrong times and managers are refusing to let me go >.< Anyway, perhaps its God's will... as there are some things I need to deal with...stops me from running away... ;)

Hi Jenny =) Thanks for your message. Will wait for your email =)

Hi vv! Yes, was going to reply to your email, but have only just read that story and browsed a couple others of his. (for anyone interested: http://www.outpostnine.com/stories/words.html)

Wasn't so much inspired... instead, I was analysing it. That particular story definitely has ideas that wouldn't be out of place in my head. He has a very flowing, easy to read style. haha... if you hadn't noticed, I'm also rather idealistic, though also a realist at the same time. Anyway, an interesting read... though it didn't trigger the emotions for me that I would expect - but I guess I write for an emotional response as well as for the concept. Or it could be that I'm just stuck in an analytical frame of mind right now >.<

What'd I say? I know I'm cheeky, but I thought you meant to write 'partisan'... which as it turned out is what you meant, just using a different (but closely spelt) word =) No need to call me names missy! =P(though I admit to being a 'smart ass' every now and then)
